Pause Wellness is a friendly, focussed, yet fun studio in Meander Square, Nottingham Road (opposite Gowrie Village). The studio offers a variety of movement classes to suit each clients individual needs and help them achieve healthier bodies and minds.
I often get asked why I decided to call the studio "Pause". To me, it means to stop temporarily in order to reflect or recharge. It allows us to step back from our thoughts, creating space for clarity and new perspectives. Pausing can be beneficial for mental health, decision-making, and enhancing overall well-being. Embracing these moments can lead to greater productivity and creativity. So with this in mind, I work to create a healthy and happy space for the community to take a "Pause" from the distractions and stress of daily life and just MOVE.

ABOUT ME
I'm Lou, the owner and principle Pilates trainer at Pause Wellness. I am BASI trained - which basically means I have been trained in the BASI way on both Pilates equipment and the mat. I believe in living a life full of joy, gratitude, and respect. These feelings inform and guide my teachings and practice. I focus on helping my clients better connect to themselves and their surroundings in an informal, yet meaningful way.


WE ALL NEED PILATES
When I launched this website in 2020, the above heading read: You Need Pilates. That's what I had been taught. After 4 years of teaching pilates, I can honestly say I am yet to meet a body that doesn't need Pilates. I love Pilates - it's more than a workout. It sculpts your body but it also clears your mind and gives you energy and balance. What makes Pilates special?
Most people come to a Pilates class to get a flat tummy (did you know your core consists of 29 different muscles?), ease joint pains and discomforts, rehabilitate after a surgery or improve their athletic performance, be it on the bike, road or golf course. And Pilates can do all of that! But its so much more - it gives you confidence, inner strength and connects your mind and body.
